Here's a couple I considered to be the best of the lot.<br />

And I have used it for at least one landscape so far....here it is. This probably isn't the best photo I took, but was one of them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNQboetCkKWXg67CsKY3YBuqPdM0XH0zSDC96rbvRZ9x5iB9jdjphk5Km9TnuY1x2ujGGmJCTBZ46ubkZZ309uyoJVvs3y7Y-qgC2DFWlVvzudWQl1kuIEuno9iRmNjSB6ioHxSdKTMJs/s1600/IMG_7872.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNQboetCkKWXg67CsKY3YBuqPdM0XH0zSDC96rbvRZ9x5iB9jdjphk5Km9TnuY1x2ujGGmJCTBZ46ubkZZ309uyoJVvs3y7Y-qgC2DFWlVvzudWQl1kuIEuno9iRmNjSB6ioHxSdKTMJs/s640/IMG_7872.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">f/5, 1/1250 sec, ISO-200</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but I use a Canon EOS 450D with the standard twin lenses.</div>Emhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13106285627086216281noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3306847692179761744.post-25115805393451865052011-07-19T05:27:00.000-07:002011-07-19T05:32:03.695-07:00Experimenting with DOFToday I decided it would be a good day to learn more about changing the depth of field of a photograph using the aperture value. Being lazy, I haven't ever actually done this before. For landscape photos I'd use the auto landscape settings and for macro I'd use the auto macro settings. I also discovered the value of manual focus while experimenting with the depth of field. Auto-focus just seems to choose any random point to focus on, hence the value of manual focus is to have control over your photograph.<br />
<br />
Without further ado, a couple of shots I took while experimenting:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6k-yZRzoZFI/TiVyvoU2KXI/AAAAAAAAAQE/KUQHo5xGDEA/s1600/IMG_7813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6k-yZRzoZFI/TiVyvoU2KXI/AAAAAAAAAQE/KUQHo5xGDEA/s640/IMG_7813.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">f/22 - large depth of field, most of the photo in focus.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EUdspP6e1cc/TiV3snRBN5I/AAAAAAAAAQk/mHFVhkq7L-M/s1600/IMG_7814.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EUdspP6e1cc/TiV3snRBN5I/AAAAAAAAAQk/mHFVhkq7L-M/s640/IMG_7814.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">f/3.5 - shallow depth of field, background out of focus.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
